Apex shares up on gold plant opening
December 9, 2008 - 5:46PM - The Age - wire
Shares in Apex Minerals NL rose on Tuesday on news it had commissioned a processing plant at its Wiluna gold mine in Western Australia.
The Perth-headquartered company's shares rose three cents, or 10.71 per cent, at 31 cents.
"Minor gold smelting has been undertaken and will continue this week with the first gold pour ... now expected in the week commencing December 15," it said.
Apex originally planned to pour its first gold last month but said in a statement on Tuesday that the delay was largely caused by minor control faults in electrical components providing power to the grinding circuit.
