What the government needs to do for aviation is let Virgin go and restructure the airline industry to create more suppliers forging greater competition.

Really their needs to be around 50 airline groups that relate to pilots for airlines run as businesses.

The network power structures need to be broken up and re-set.

Every plane is its own business, the engineers and maintenance have their own planes they service as a businesses.

    Plane inspectors is another business.

Really their are no need for employees to be working in the airline industry. Most should be running their operations as businesses to promote competition and value. All that is need is a platform to enable standards, competition and incentive with Air Services Australia and CASA still maintaining standards

This should cut out market power charges on customers, make the industry far more agile and flexible and reduce prices from lower costs and reduced overhead enabling more flights to take place.

It means operations can be less specific and operators ca be more flexible and agile allowing them to do other things so pandemics are less of a disruption
