ASD certification is just another fancy way of saying. I don't want my data and hardware shared. Boiling it down , it means the organisation wants a bare metal server within a certain distance to my head office and managed by authorised personnel with security clearance. In other words, very expensive. Very few vendors would want to do that. If the Government wants that then they will have to pay for it. That is why they have to water it down.

If AR9 is targeting for a big slice of the Australia Government market, they did not raise very much money to go in for the fight, If they are all in as a SaaS company then they really need to raised a lot more money to host the platform. Bare Metal Infrastructure Services do not come cheap to provision. It runs counter intuitive to the having Cloud. It looks to me that AR9 is more of a consultant company with an a-la-carte product.
