Why would the government intervene on late fees when they have been allowing the practice by the telcos and utilities to charge fees for being late?
The telcos will charge you $15 on a $40 bill and the government doesn't do anything about that.
What makes you think they are going to intervene on a fee of $10?
$10 is criminal when there are costs attached? Really?
The consumers are 18yo plus entering in to a contract and you don't think late fees are appropriate?
If a customer defaults they will only do it once as they are able to list the default on your credit file.
Smart move if the consumers do that.
