Doing some training on an upgraded version of EMR (electronic medical record used in NSW health) and got a little hopeful to see a new pain assessment tool in the hospital software.

Unfortunately it wasn't Painchek (health system too scummy to provide mobile phones that might get nicked anyway).

It was PAINAD aka, pain assessment in dementia. It was basically a checklist for body language, agitation, groaning etc.

Although painchek isn't contracted for hospitals yet, at least there is progress in hospitals that the previously accepted 0-10 pain score is a flawed tool that needs replacing.
