I think they may well be internationally renowned scientists who's lifelong achievements gives them substantial credibility in there specified fields of expertise.
If it were some scientist at the CSIRO studying the effect of parasitic worms on mice then obviously not a great deal of reason to sit up and listen.
The significant fact is that a growing number of highly respected, internationally renowned scientists trained in these specific fields are refuting the claims made by many other scientists and, more importantly, many politicians.
Who is right and who is wrong, well you decide? I don't go much on politicians untrained scientific facts myself.
