Ann: Vali-1 ST1 Update, page-21

From my perspective, I think Vali-1 will flow at initial gas rates around 3-4 mmscf/d (hopefully more), if the fracture stimulation program is well-executed. Crowsnest-1 in the Santos acreage to the west, initially flowed at 5.6mmfcs/d from the Patchawarra sands, but the sands in Crowsnest are shallower than at Vali-1 and consequently most-probably of better reservoir quality (see depth versus mean reservoir porosity plot below for the Cooper Basin). The Vali-1 frac. interval straddles the Kinta-1 test interval in depth; Kinta-1 did not flow gas to surface from the Patchawarra and is immediately north of Val-1. But then Kinta-1 only tested a 4 meter interval, while Vali-1 is fracture stimulating a 300+ meter interval. Furthermore, I do not think Kinta-1 was fracture stimulated; can anyone confirm if Kinta-1 was fracced?

Also, the 35 metres of gas pay in Vali-1 where porosities are greater than or equal to 9% will be important flow contributors. These porosities are similar to those at Crowsnest-1 based on the Permeability versus Porosity cross-plot on the right. And remember, Crowsnest flowed at strong initial rates, so by analogy, Vali-1 should too.........






Here's a typical production profile of a fracced, tight gas sand well. Very dated though...............
