Yak, if you don't win their hearts and minds, and turn them against you, when democracy is installed it is likely to falter - creating a power vaccuum for terrorism - or deliver a government unsympathetic to US interests. Not a good outcome. I thought the whole idea is to create a bastion of democracy in the Middle East, a shining light that will show other Arab countries the way?
