If you declare bankruptcy solely to get a tax write off, when perhaps there was a way around it, you are essentially defaulting on your debts because it is in your own financial interest and don't give a crap about the people who you owe money to. After all, bankruptcy is simply a legal way to walk away from your debts.. How admirable.
