There is irony in the "I can't breathe" statement. Not being able to breathe seems to be one of the main causes of coronavirus deaths.
If just one person in a BLM protest has coronavirus and passes it on to several other protestors, the odds are that an innocent person will die as a result of not being able to breathe. That person might be a relative or friend of one of the protestors.
Should a death in custody be more important than the death caused by reckless behaviour? What about the damage to livelihoods caused by associated lockdowns?
People have a right to protest, but there's a time and a place, and this is not it.
