Eagle, unfortunately in this case the people with the most to lose are the scientists that support climate change theory. All of the scientists that jump on the bandwagon receive massive amounts of funding, whereas the many scientists that dispute the claim receive nothing. In the case of asbestos and cigarettes it was the suppliers that stood to suffer from diminished sales. Your argument fully supports the other side of the coin. The people with most to lose, with a vested interest, are the scientists that are pushing the climate change agenda. The politicians are the driving force behind climate change and it may take a number of years until we finally have definitive answers.
The people not receiving funding, who therefore have nothing to lose, are the ones that are most sceptical. Many of the leading experts around the world have already jumped off the climate change bandwagon and now support the sceptical argument as more and more facts come to hand.
