One of the points that APT and competitors have been spruiking is the migration to online shopping but that actually reduces their advantage as it's relatively simple and inexpensive to integrate several BNPL API into online websites as opposed to in store marketing materials and staff training.
We are now reaching the point where the weaker competitors unable to compete on lead referral are forced to lower merchant fees to win business.
APT either have to match these or lose business,as they cannot prove the value of referrals
Klarna have said they are coming in at 2 per cent and watch the others all try to compete.
The disrupters will be disrupted
Plug 2 per cent fees onto the APT model and watch the losses escalate
