It's a processor that mimics the human brain by using a spiking neural network. It's low power and ideal for classification at the edge.
There's a difference between the types of AI and this processor still falls within the realm of narrow AI. I've been invested in this company for many years, I'm well aware of how significant this breakthrough is however saying it's anything other than what it is would be taking the Mickey.
The first personal computer was a breakthrough, the first iPhone was a breakthrough but it doesn't mean they haven't been surpassed by better versions. The same will happen here as well with Akida. Let's just hope that it's this company that keeps rolling out the breakthroughs.
