On 22 July, 46032199“So you want to make money”.This post referred to:
·Helix’s inferred Au JORC figure of 118,800ounces – which was obtained from:
o only 4 Prospects…;
o without taking into account possible “further priority targets in the immediate vicinity of the deposits…” and without any drilling whatsoever on many existing workings including old shafts;
o there having been shallow drilling only, into the oxide and transitional zones – not deeper into the fresh rock and so leaving untested possible “direct depth extensions…”
·numerous“gold deposits and prospects” plus 45 “Priority Points of Interest” described by Helix as “strong additional regional targets all untested by drilling”.
So I see big upside once Helix gets its eye in with the (imminent) drilling.It may take a few holes to work out the location of deposits, their orientation, sweet spots etc. but with gold at record highs (underpinned by circumstances that won’t change in a hurry), the gold acreage alone is worth the entry price. Helix’s MC is still only $15M.
COPPER
IMO the copper assets are worth the entry price, too. There’s a stack of upside potential in Collerina (as well in juicy exploration targets along Helix’s 85km prospective VMS belt, including copper bearing outcrop that has never been drill tested).
Collerina (100% Helix) - which will get some drilling from the recently raised funds - has 3 zones, only one of which – the Central Zone had enough drilling by late 2019 to even estimate an Initial CentralZone JORC resource (40,400 tonnes Cu; 9,400 oz Au).More drilling is required in this zone to demonstrate additional ounces.The other zones (Northern TargetZone – up-plunge NW extension) and Southern Target Zone (footwall of CentralZone) were too conceptual and had not been drilled enough to estimatere sources.
Helpfully, Helix’s announcement of 24 March 2020 gave an indication of the potential extra resources that might be uncovered with well-targetted drilling.However that announcement coincidentally was made on the day when the Cu price bottomed at US$2.10/lb, and so the market did not respond. The content – italicized and with bold by Helix – bears repeating:
·referred to the “Exploration Target … representing a potential additional 30 – 150kt contained copper”. Now we’re talking …
·highlighted that then drilling “Confirms much larger extent of copper system, with at least two additional copper lodes identified outside of the initial Central Zone resource envelope (refer ASX release 11 June 2019), each with extensive down plunge potential.”
·also highlighted “Clear opportunity to substantially grow the high-grade copper resource…”
·reported that “In aggregate, represents significant extensional success and validation of broader Central Zone Exploration Target (referASX release 11 June 2019) (including likely envelope expansion); parallel Northern Target Zone extends from surface to untested Fixed Loop EM (FLEM) targets 1.5km down plunge (which is approximately 550m from surface).”
·also referred to “Our recent drilling has confirmed the existence of high-grade copper mineralisation well outside of the Central Zone resource area. The targeted down plunge extent of these additional lodes offers substantial potential upside to our current resource base at Collerina.”
In short:I’m still a buyer and have just bought even more at 2c. Good luck!
