apparently it was sitting under a pile of zinc.

I believe they did a 'cash only' deal with some chinese in a laneway around Century mine. As you know, the chinese wanted a discount, so OZL asked for cash and 'we will discount gst'.

Chinese obviously didn't realise 1. they dont need to pay gst and 2. OZL had already quoted 10% more for the zinc.

Anyway, AM thought that having too much money with the banks was a risk (he only realised yesterday about the government guarantee on deposits), but also, I think he realised there was a problem when he was trying to pay contractors with 'cash' and they could only accept cheque (Bank Cheque only these days).

So, out of the blue...."oh...um....I've got some money I need to deposit". Anyway, he is now recorded under the Austrak system by the local bank teller given the deposit exceeded $10,000 and AM looked, as the teller indicated in her report, "a little shadey".
