Yep good catch.....lots of people exist relatively personality-less as many people know such an existence.....they are instead avatars in many ways hence all manner of adornments in an attempt toward an individualised identity (self)....
many who take this even further via plastic and cosmetic surgerys actually desire and pay big money to become as close to their idealistic caricature as possible....
More extreme is Betty Boo as a big one in such communitys as is anime, others also say certain animals say like wolves if male ....like all things it exists along a spectrum of behaviour but is in and of it's self always the same thing.
i am heading into town today for a couple of hours and each time I see many such examples occupying their chosen place on the spectrum.
