Imo, the share price will rise if div is 8c. Anything better than 8c will set the share price on fire. Shareholders of banks are eagerly looking for a bluechip to switch to. Imo, there is no reason for the board to increase dividend at this stage, especially when Telstra needs money to construct 5G network. Moreover, there is no pressure to increase dividend as other bluechips are cutting or reducing dividends.
