My 5c, everyone is so scared and beaten, they see shadows behind every curtain. This 90% story has been pushed so far and so hard by so many so fast, it leaves only a few options, either its true, or its in some of the big Insto's interests that it be seen as true. Tell a lie often enough and eventually people start to believe it.
Classic example of this is the granite industry, where the makers of man made composites have convinced people, even some of those who used to know better that their composites (referred to as "stone") are superior when a few tests clearly show the opposite.
Back to the matter at hand, its fairly obvious that the deal is a 3 to 7 year one and that the worst case scenario is that Lenders could own up to 90%, however the story being punted is that this is a done n dusted deal.
So figure out who has the most to gain and there you have the source of all this garbage.
