I am not saying that the 20% definition is good bad or otherwise. It is just the popular definition, rightly or wrongly.
You raise a good point about the extreme volatility. The vix spiked recently and is now going down. Another sign of a market bottom.
Also interesting is the DJT (dow transports) entered bull market territory 9 trading days ago. Dow theory says that the transports will confirm the bull market.
