For a competing firm to develop a competing product, they would first need to develop their own version of the dst technology. From an engineering stand point I can’t imagine that would be an easy job. They would then need to build the mechanical machine and the specialised software. I would think that this process would take at least a few years, meanwhile Fbr have likely moved to 1000 blocks per hour and its game over through other enhancements. Fbr reminds me of Tesla. Both are disrupting industries. Both are spearheaded by committed founders. Both challenging the status quo with people telling them their product would never work. Both are disrupting stupidly large industries. Both have had to wait fir the ideal moment to commercialise after the tech/compositing capabilities became available through advancement in technology. We all know how it turned out fir Tesla’s shareholders. There are very rare opportunities that cone along on the market where everything seems to be stacked in your favour and the company happens to still be in micro cap land. I have seen moment like this in the past such as when jd.com had fully tanked after Richard was charged. What a buying opportunity it was. It had everything, tech/founder/market size/economies of scale, etc. These rare types of dislocation exist but they are fleeting. At the end of the day we all must take some risk to get on in this world. Things just seem to be stacked fir Fbr to make their mark. All imo. Dyor please...

Don't forget the fact that if a competitor was designing their own DST, they need to do so without infringing on our patents that solve the problems they encounter!
