    Gold glitters as spot prices hit new record high

    Spot gold touched a new record high of $US1984.65 an ounce this morning, bettering the previous best set last week, and economists say there’s still fuel in the rally. It is trading at $2,767.19 per ounce in the local currency, and touch all-time highs of $2,782.93 around 8am.
