Como near Rockhampton is ~1500km from Kidston, so the battery is a stand-alone install. Central Qld is awash with unfirmed solar and there is a good chance of making a buck in this market. The Qld government will be thrilled to have the grid there stabilised by a battery. They or NAIF might even tip in some soft loans.
I remain deeply sceptical that GNX holders will make anything on Kidston PH. The rent contract and option to buy looks most advantageous to EA while a lot of risk remains with GNX. An equity partner still hasn't been found to fund KPH and I suspect this is the stumbling block.
A little big battery would make a useful addition to the Kidston complex and drive the whole apparatus harder - pumped hydro, solar, wind and grid connection.
I was so appalled by IFN's Quarterly today that I sold out completely. RR & team just gave up. I thought they had some brains. If Iberdola don't gain outright ownership the price will fall and I will be able to reenter cheaper.
I take a handsome profit but lose my exposure to wind farms/renewables. I doubt GNX, might have to consider TLT.
Not happy.
