They (the Germans) never did any barter like that what you are describing. This type of barter you keep inferring, has never existed in any community unfamiliar with the use of money. They traded as tribes for useful materials. That's collective trade, not barter. There is no truck and barter spot trade economy between individuals in any community not familiar with the use of money.
