They did hack all of the other countries labs - so technically they now own all the worlds best research combined giving them a leap ahead. News is they have already been using it on their doctors and soldiers and also they do want to beat America to it - purely for bragging rights. That said they did the same with cosmonauts that were burnt to a crisp.
In any case this is going to to put pressure on Trumps ego to have vaccine out in time for polls.
