It's a bit late this year, but if the coal companies got together with clever marketing offering a discount to people in Australia for 1/2 price fireplace modification to burn coal, they could sell a lot of coal to consumers and would be cheaper for consumers to burn coal than purchasing firewood, I would prefer Australians to benefit from using coal instead of overseas people.
Also if people were using coal in their homes for heating, they would see the benefit of it and not be so easily intimated by the green left against it.
