I haven't been in as long as you, which you already knew.
Fundamentally the company hasn't changed in what they are trying to do which is work with the largest and most popular games to improve the stickiness of games, having more engagement with their games plus build on communities.
I have tried Mogul a fair bit and before playing on Mogul I played a heck of a lot of League of Legends - probably 10-20 games a week. However the last time i actually played a game of LoL was back in Nov last year - the other 'custom' games was either testing the tournament creation wizard or the integration that Mogul has with Riot (yes integration) or when they did the ANZ LoL Ladder which played to again see what the player experience is like.
So what did Mogul end up making me play? Hearthstone (Blizzard)... Which I actually played alot of it and enjoyed it - I played Hearthstone when it first was around but never spent any money on it as it was eh. However with Mogul it changed my player habit, resurrected a dormant player and I have forked out a couple hundred dollars on the game over this time. Mean while with Riot they haven't gotten any money from me as I am not playing it and I would of also spent a couple of hundred dollars on skins for this game too.
It could be seen as bias as I am a holder of ESH however I was not forced to stick with Hearthstone and to play a game for over a year only because you want to make a point is a very long time to keep it up. I could of gone back to LoL but I have little interest in it - I used to watch majority if not all LCS games and some of the LEC/LCK matches but I haven't watched them in ages 6 months+ and that was only a game or two... Yet again I have watched these competitions since the first ones.. So Riot went from a 'huge fan/highly engaged' to just a fan who enjoyed their game. Whilst blizzard went from a fan of their previous games (e.g. WoW, Diablo, WC & SC) but didn't enjoy Hearthstone to now enjoying HS and spending hundreds on their game.
Maybe management has case studies like this but also as they get more users it becomes a very valueable marketing database because Mogul now knows that I have played xyz games so if a developer goes hey we want gamers who have played y to be marketed that is really targeted marked and run a tournament - similar to steam where they suggest games you might like based off games you have played.
For clarity sake last game was in May but again custom which was to do with Mogul.
