So true - The problem for Toyota and VW and all the other companies is that it is very hard to have a foot in the old technology and the new technology.
No doubt, the conflicting interest between the respective techs would be a tough gig, thus I'm betting they'd be hoping for a shortage of lithium supply so they can hang on to the old tech just a little bit longer.
