Has there been human trials to show the combination works? It is not clear from this article whether this is based on lab tests or human trials. Nothing should be ‘rolled out ‘ without proof of efficacy in human trials, especially to our elderly.
It is worth noting that zinc interacts with tetracyclines forming an insoluble complex in the gut therefore needs to be taken separately by at least 2 hours therefore would have questionable efficacy given as a single capsule. The Professor eluded to a single capsule which makes me think human trials have not been done.
