Funny story. I bought some 7000 shares in APA a long time ago around $3. I was trading with Etrade then. During the GFC, I sold all my shares at Etrade and moved to Commsec, except for APA. I can't remember why I kept it but I have completely forgotten about it until this ANZ Trading took over and kept sending me emails about how good their platform is. I called them and told them I don't have an account with ANZ Trading but they said you sure do and you have some shares in it. They set up the password for me and I looked and there it was, good old APA, worth about $8 with thousands of dollars of dividends sitting in the linked bank account. An accidental Warren Buffet trade.
Now, I don't think I will ever sell APA. It is truly something you can buy and forget and get a pleasant surprise at the end.
