Hi folks,
i agree that a consolidation is necessary, but the effects of it on the SP can go either way. On the one hand it does tighten up the share registry and thereby perhaps will prevent 20%+ swings in a day, but on the other hand it also increases the percentage by which your holdings gain or lose value.
For example, at a pre-consolidation price of say 6c, buys and sells can go up/down by 0.1c, ie 1.6% at a time. But post-consolidation when the price is 60c, then the buys/sell bids are at 0.5c increments, ie 8.3%.
So on an uptrend your portfolio value will increase faster, but on a downtrend it will go down faster too.
So there are both pros and cons.
I hope PJ has some good anns for us after the consolidation otherwise any dumping due to lack of info and general shareholder boredom will cause more damage then pre-consolidation.
cheers all.
