Besides, JDR will benefit from considerable historic studies and reviews Moreton and Alcyone undertook. I believe MRV, for example, put quite a bit of effort into raising the height of dam walls to mitigate the environmental impacts that saw AYN come unstuck.
AND (did we mention) there's 1.55M tonnes of ore already stacked on the pad or almost pad ready!
Yes, it's the unfortunate shareholders of MRV, and its creditors - and before them, AYN - who have paid for all of that work ...but it gives JDR a pretty hefty head-start over earlier Granite Belt/Texas operators to make a go of it.
