AS a weekly buyer/eater of Crystal Bay shrimp i would say there is no need for such a process as they as good as gold imo. But a little story relevant to your ? & to pass the time while we wait for the funding $s announcement. Many years ago the kids & I caught a swag of very large freshwater craybobs in our dam. We were going to cook normal style, ie. boil, peel, de-vein, served with a nice bush tomato dressing etc. A locally renowned french chef told us to 1st place all the craybobs in shallow baking trays, with room for each to move, then place dishes in the fridge with pieces of white bread. We needed to change the water and bread every two days for a week b4 we ate them & no need to de-vein. This we did & the beasts ate all the bread. When cooked, their flesh was like butter and the vein was full of white bread so ate it all. So there you go, there is a process.
