However, in the long term, I see this company being bought out or merged by a larger company. If you were the CEO of a larger camera manufacture, wouldn't you want to bundle AMS products together with your cameras. So that you have sole ownership, and thus a competitive advantage - by restricting your competitors access.
A simple analogy, Sony pays for the sole ownership of certain games that can be used with their gaming devices. Forcing consumers to use Sony's products to play those games.
