you would think this is a pretty serious announcement.

If it is ready to be announced on Jan 9, you will find the ASX will delay opening for an hour to allow the market to digest what is suggest and then let the shares trade after that. That is what they usually do when they know in advance a significant anncmt like this is due.

The Jan 9 timetable is a very tight one for BNB. I would suspect they have had to work right through the holidays to meet this schedule. The big issue for BNB is buying enough time to stop the Europeam banks making too much trouble for them and finding a way to reduce them out of the corporate facility. Will be interesting to see if they give any indication on the fate of the BNBG and similar such BNB notes.
