esi: cautions against over-optimism for 2009

There have been some very optimistic predications by my learned fellow HC posters on the year ahead for ESI:

"this time next year we are ten times better off (at least) on esi"

"a great year it will be, the market and one or 2 (or 3) dumb shareholders have created opportunities that dont come around often"

"all the universes are aligning, 2009 is esi's year"

"this little company (that no-one yet knows about) will definitely not be trading 3c in 12 months."

HOWEVER, if one reflects on the predictions at this same time 12 months ago, it illustrates what may be described as a degree of over-optimism by HC posters on ESI. Back then, the SP was 15 cents - five times higher than now (i.e. the SP has comprehensively collapsed since then). Nevertheless, consider predictions by one avid HC poster:

Post 2432938 from 07/01/08: "I'm sure 2008 will be a prosperous year for ESI, 30 cents to $1.50 is achievable"

And yet, instead of going from 15 cents to 30 cents, or even $1.50, it has collapsed to under 3 cents.

Therefore, with respect to my learned HC posters, I caution against predicting these massive SP rises - eg. again to 30 cents, etc - which, based on past experience, is not necessarily in touch with reality.

A comprehensive analysis would suggest that ESI may stay below 10 cents for most of the year while it continues to consolidate its solid financial position and solves issues such as IP, and while things like the ETS are unsettled. It might be fair to say that 2010 could possibly be a strong year for ESI.
