Could be part of the mix- I couldn't really say without some deeper thinking... Certainly it's a good way of distributing wealth, but only works for those who are lucky enough to have a job in an era of declining jobs (which we are only on the cusp of)... It may place disproportionately higher burdens on small businesses too...
I am also wary of ideas that distract from the main discussion of the value and necessity of taxes- and you'd have to be cared such a call wasn't creatively hijacked for this purpose...
Such discussions are great clouds of confusion that help to perpetuate the rampant tax avoidance and minimisation that goes on...
but it's probably a good idea to have as part of the mix...
