The key thing with Lulo is that these are not normal kimberlites, they've RVK (check out Petra for more info.). These are kimberlites that can be brought into production very quickly and cheaply with EXCEPTIONAL grades.If you look carefully at some of the photos you'll see that the squatters were running a very big mine. There is also a mention that Lom could not fly over that site because the squatters were threatening to shoot down the helicopter that was performing the aerial survey.
