It was a while ago we discussed the permanent COVID induced CKD damage, so we knew this occurs, some recent stats in this article & if you look back in threads, there is more, this one is just a very quick read for the crux of the situation:

The post above with the case studies is just in relation to a type of FSGS, but the article above & stats are in relation to CKD in general. 82% of patients with COVID-19 related Acute Kidney Injury had no prior diagnosis of kidney disease.
Yes it’s scary the long term effects that can occur, even when people recover from the virus, as the medical community are discovering more about SARS-COV 2.
So the estimates for global CKD (including FSGS & DKD) maybe completely different by next year due to COVID-19 infection, likewise COPD.
