Why so surprised about a little profit taking after the stock has run so hard? The period between Christmas and New Year is usually positive for these more tightly held stocks as many of the sellers are still on holidays, whilst the higher gold price has prompted buying. Still finished at $0.42 today, nothing wrong with that.
This week the bigger holders will be back from holidays and this could be good or bad depending on whether they are buying or selling. Hopefully the gold price will stay strong and we will get some positive news before the next run.
