3 hours free parking before you pay. if I'm going to buy a few things I'm not longer than that.
it is also designed to stop those who don't use the Centre but take up parking spots at the detriment of actual shoppers.
southland in Vic as an example, has a train station right at the Centre so if parking wasn't paid then you'd have people from all over bayside parking there and catching train in, provides no revenue whatsoever to the Centre and if anything you'd think a full car park would deter shoppers.
At least by charging, they get revenue from those who are purely using it as a parking spot for the day (public transport users) whilst not penalizing others who use the Centre.
