They already have blueprinted the way forward ... it has just been interupted by the 'Martu Reneg'.

Remember that production from LD is not rocket science extraction ..... pretty well just pumping up the brine around 10m into an evaporation pond & let the sun do what it does naturally to liquids. Scrape up whats left into a truck for transport to market.

I know there are a few more 'refining' steps in between, but really, this is the lowest of low tech mining & the market is already established in Oz for 400K+ pa of which ALL is currently imported.
