Everything is possible, it is only the cost and economics.
Some genius touted break thru in extracting lithium from sea water not long ago, but it is not economical although there is abundance of it.
Using current available technology, it cost $2 to 3,000.00 to extract per ton of lithium from brine which contains approx 600 mg of lithium per 1,000 lit, imagine the cost to extract from sea water (that contains less than 5 % of lithium content as in brine).
It may happen in 50 years time with the new technology, by then lithium may be obsolete and replaced by other form of technology.
