    Good post! Coppertop137.

    1. I agree with your comments. There are likely to be institutional players like Orbit (not sure about the spelling) who has secured stake in CER last year amid the saga. This is a good indication of such players out there.

I suppose there might be some instiutional players accumulating at current level already. it is just that below 5% they don't have to disclose.

Even if there aren't such big ones, there are likely to be high net worth individuals that are doing just that, though not with the same impact.

    2. An interesting observation of today's SP movement is that: for 1.5 hours up to 3pm, sell orders between 0.097-0.105c (or even higher level, my small ticket screen does not show that long so I could not remember) remained unchanged -i.e. exactly the same when sp stick around 9.5-9.6c. It was only until the last 30 mins also that D/Ts or the ones that are scared about news over the weekend started to push orders to 9.5c and below till the auction time.

I watched that even till close, sell orders at 9.7c -10c remained largely static. This gives us some comfort that there are investors out there that have a longer term view of VPG.

    3. re likely dividend payment: I can't comment as I don't have detailed financials or asset/ revenue breakdowns.

Has anyone got latest brokers' report that could give us some indication?

I presume we can only figure out distributable earnings, the actual dividend figure will have to factor in the capital preservation under the current environment, and also likely profit downgrade in FY2009.

That said, VPG definitely has more leeway in determining dividend payment than CER.
