Jason,
Watch for the BBI run. It appears that the reason behind it all, was because of a large hedge fund covering their shorts that they made a very very long time ago.
Apparently, quite sometime ago, they have sold BBI short to the tune of over $400 mill. US, when the shares were about $18 each, and they banked their money, using it in other ventures without even owning BBI in the first place. They now came out from hiding and bought BBI to cover their shorts pushing the sp up to about 40 cents and made a killing on the poor unsuspecting shareholders who lost their pants in the meantime, thanks to their superannuation funds who gave/lent the stock to these hedge funds in the first place. So, while the person in the superannuation fund involved in the share lending got his commission for the income the super fund received form the hedge fund, the poor superannuation fund investor who invested his hard earned, got fleeced. The hedge fund in return made about $390 mill. clean/nett, without even spending one of their own cents. NOT BAD HI, !!!!
And to top it all off, no one ever knew that these shorting were existent. WHY????????
Yeah, we have a very good and reliable regulator who is looking after us. And they (the hedge funds, the UK and the USA), are now screaming that we in Australia should remove the banning for the shorting of stock altogether, and the required notification to the market that the stock has been shorted, so that the market will get properly stabilised as it should, in the meantime allowing the transfer of wealth to the wealthier with the pretence that shorting is promoting liquidity????? Never have I heard such a ridicolous statement.
What do they call it?? Dead cat bounce???
I hope that the same is not happening here with ADY. Any thoughts anyone?? Why, all of a sudden, is this mad rush on the sp, when even the Mangement don't know what is going on, or they pretend that they don't know???
