I doubt very much Labor will implode. Labor of the 90s is a different party to Labor of periods prior to that, particularly in the areas of economic management since the time of the Hawke government.

What is "good money management" sometimes can be in the eyes of the beholder though. To some, when Labor is not spending money in the areas of their preference, it is "bad money management" :-) The endless anti Labor posts from some since Labor's win in Canberra in November 08, critisising almost everyone of Labor's major policy decisions are just biased political acts without objectivity.

You said "when in opposition,I'm sure you would realise that your hands are tied to a certain extent and give the impression of flip flopping." Now you are telling it as it is, but why then stayed silent when the Liberals in government critisized Labor for "flip-flopping" or it is a case of it is ok for Liberals to do that but hey not for Labor.

This new Labor government is doing reasonably well in actually running this country, despite the unexpected arrival of the effects of the financial problems originated from offshores. Some may want to discount the public polling results, as indicators of public's approval & acceptance of what the government has been doing, but that is putting one's head in the sand.

Currently the Liberals in opposition have no coherent policy platforms. The next election is closer than we think as I feel the government may hold an early election :-)
