Well mate, FWIW IHMO BHP [acronyms, don't u just luv 'em - hehehehe] appears to be consolidating itself as the world's number 1 diversified miner simply by riding on the back of its tier 1 assets and low debt position.
IMO even if its latest profits are lower than forecast the real story is what BHP has inflcted on its competitors - even including debt-strapped RIO, the big oilers & iron ore specialist, VALE.
IMO the key appears to have been expertise, diversity & tier 1 assets! They explain why I am happy to remain long on BHP & to long trade it opportunistically for beer money.
IMO and barring some catastrophic intervention by governments BHP will be one of few still standing tall post this whole damn mess.
