I'm no chartist, Delete, but my experience is that gaps invariably get filled unless the gap up is on high volume (usually "news" based). Some stocks more than others have a habit of always filling gaps. The more liquid the stock, the more likely too.

There are that many types of gaps in the different chartist theories that abound... such as "runaway" gaps, "continuation" gaps and "exhaustion" gaps that the theories seem so contrarian that they almost nullify one another.

I tend to prefer to see a gap fill just so that it doesn't continue to be a source of worry! And, I think today's gap will fill as FOMO of missing out on taking profit sets in amongst the small investors and traders. As much as I liked to see those bigger profit numbers in my portfolio when GAL was at 45c this morning... I think I'd prefer to see that pesky gap filled too.
