The reason ZNO did the Vaccinia test as well the COVID-19 surrogate is because it’s like a lead virus and showing efficacy against it means for all other viruses ZNO only have to do a screening test to make the claims.
The EU recognises Vaccinia as the toughest double enveloped virus to deactivate, this saves ZNO having to do full testing against every virus that comes along.
