Interestingly, I’ve seen these type of behaviour in developing countries, and they are common. If one seeks to split hairs and take positions then it’s easy to label those that cause havoc to status quo with ideals one considers undesirable. And so we may dismiss these strifes with tags like Antifa, terrorists, communists, and such other tags designed to alienate the others and position oneself as one of the good guys. In developing countries where it’s difficult to distinguish between races and political ideals, my observations are that these tags take tribal identities, religious identities and whatever other characteristics the ‘good guy’ can cobble up to differentiate from them. What is however common in all these social chaos is social and economic disenfranchisement. When you have a big enough population within a country that has been left behind, and another that is getting on well, soon enough you have people who have nothing to loose and when you have those, not your guns, not your Medicare, not your police, not your laws can help you against them. Until the USA addresses social inequity, economic inequity and racial injustices, it will continually face these chaos time and again. Folks like Donald will come along once in a long while and their political schisms will reignite the fires that will normally stay underground when the political environment isn’t sufficiently divisive to trigger eruptions. Simply put, USA is rotten to the core and has been for a long time. Only thing Donald has done is to air in public USAs white supremacy ideology in public while the others before him have pretended it was not.
