The offer will only be about 1 share for every 10 held. If they take up their full entitlement it will only reduce their cost basis by about 1 cent.
Im not saying its not the reason they bought in I just think it's probably something else.
My guess is they probably know the results of the dog study. Results were expected ages ago, its a pretty minor study no need for it to be delayed this long.
